Looking back on SummerCamp 2006
Festival Program
The Homomonument goes full swing again this Pride Weekend. Lazily lounge in the sun during the day and a lot of shows, action and dancing in the early evening. For four days the Homomonument at the Westermarkt will be the ultimate meeting spot. The volunteers of GALA will be very busy from the opening on Thursday afternoon till the closing dance party early Sunday evening!
Thursday 3rd of August - Opening
From 6 till 11pm a special Pride Opening Program with various performers and speakers. The mayor will send a special representative to perform the opening at the Homomonument. The Flemish singer / songwriter Micheline Dumonceau will perform her beautiful Flemish and Dutch songs. Various other shows with a cameo of our own Josephine and relaxed lounge will ease you stylishly into Gay Pride Amsterdam.
Friday 4th of August - ArtLaunch & MTV Coolpolitics
Our summer lounge will start early in the afternoon with relaxed music and outside tables. At 7pm ArtLaunch starts its guest program with dj Prosumer (Panorama Bar, Berlin) and acts by Irina Loca & AnA MontAnA (Azart / Ship of Fools). At 8pm our stage will be the studio for one of MTV Coolpolitics’ debate recordings. Presented by MTV host Evelien Bosch, artists and politicians will debate the position of gays in Holland: are we free as a bird or are we free game, abused by immigrant adolescents. With Boris Dittrich and others.
ArtLaunch takes over again till midnight with djs Lava (Black Box), Martijn & Toon (Spellbound) and the Ponyclub: “With vegetables and fruit they last a lot longer”.

Saturday 5th of August - Clubbing Under The Stars
Lazily lounge in the afternoon (or watch the parade around the corner;-). And at 5pm a spectacular guest programming takes off by Malenka Producers: ‘Clubbing under the Stars!’ An open-air nightclub with djs Benjamin (everywhere), The DiscTwins (ShitFaced), Carlos Valdes (Vreemd) and of course Luis Yanguas from Seville, Spain! Mc Vika Kova, dancers, feathers and confetti will guarantee you an unforgettable party till midnight!
Sunday 6th of August - World Groovy Revue
GALA and Malenka present from 3pm “The World Groovy Revue”. A whirling tour around the world in 5 hours! With belly dancers, salsa dancers, dj Malenka’s and dj mps Pilot (Global Grooves). Together with super vocals from Miss Bunty we’ll have a super groovy closing of the Pride Weekend. One last boogie in the sun on the monument this year, till 9pm!
The drawing on our publicity material was made by Sander Steeman. He will also have other works on show during Pride at restaurant Getto on the Warmoesstraat.

Looking back at Summercamp 2005
This summer you could lazily lounge on the Homomonument
during the entire Pride weekend again, as the Westermarkt was transformed into your own Meeting Point Central.
From early in the afternoon we had great fresh food, chair massages, open air yoga lessons and shows. In the early evening we dimmed the light and cranked up the speed with music from several local and international djs.
Street theatre company the Snuff Puppets from Melbourne, Australia; contributions from ArtLaunch, Malenka's Fanclub, Sugar Factory and Laughing Buddha guaranteed an exquisite combination of performers and high quality entertainment.
A cruisy crowd, excellent food, funky music and live performances till midnight.
On Sunday afternoon Dolly Bellefleur celebrated her Sweet Sixteenth with us on the pink granite. The blonde diva invited a lot of national and international friends and colleagues from the business to come and perform their ass of for their own glory, your entertainment, as well as raise some money for Amnesty International. It was very blond and colorful at the same time!

August 4th, 6 - 11pm
Lounge, music, food.
World Music dj Malenka (it's Putumayo baby!) kicks off the festival with global lounge music. At 7.30 pm theatre extraordinaire the Snuff Puppets from Melbourne, Australia; at 8.15pm a performance by Mexican acrobat Manuel, at 9.45pm a very special appearance by Josephine & le Ballet Créole, complete with an encore deluxe by Marlene XL (Dietrich vs Hagen live drag). Dj Michelle (UK, PinkBlink) guarantees you a closing hour of smooth bliss.
 
Friday
August 5th, 3pm - midnight
Lounge, music and food from 4pm
Afternoon grooves provided by our resident dj PopEye
ArtLaunch Program from 7pm with djs Martijn & Toon, an appearance of Eliza at 8pm. At 9pm an act by Nod Act, followed by dj Prosumer (Berlin), Vasiliki (supa hula girl) at 10.30pm and DE NACHTZUSTER till midnight...
 
Saturday
August 6th, midday to midnight
Lounge, music and food from midday with startling beats by PopEye + guests. Malenka's Fanclub & Sugar Factory program from 5pm with Dj MPSpilot spinning World Deluxe & Sangre Latino Mixes. Dj Polack & Mzzz Erin Tasmania (Lovely E-Taz!) do it Vegas style. At 9ish dj Benjamin (ze french man). From 10pm a slamming closing set by all time favorite Luis Yanguas from Seville, Spain accompanied by mc Vika Kova (Let's Get Physical!) Porn Idols and many others
